My contribution for this week’s

Fun Foto Challenge

Cars – New, Vintage, Toy.

All sorts of cars…
car_0025I think this is a Ford Falcon…based on tail lights.

Wheels_0234Someone did tell me the make and model of this one…

however, cars and models are in one ear and out the other.

I just want mine to proceed 🙂

car_0429A December 2013 registered Holden SV6 Commodore.

Travel Theme-Trees

Travel Theme.

trees_0453A roadside specimen originally posted twelve months ago.

trees_0478How cool and inviting was its leaves on a hot day?

Trees_1879gOur neighbour’s trees in a strong wind a while back.

fog_008Morning sun pushing its way through late morning fog.

fog_1832I could not post only one foggy photo….

Finally, two shots from a recent visit to the Moorabool Valley.

trees_0002-MVI would have loved to have farmed this sort of country.

Shelter and shade everywhere…

not to mention natural nesting for birds.

Weekly Photo Challenge-Motion

My contribution for this week’s challenge…

I have posted all sorts of motion this week.

corio-bay_5803The bow wave, on Corio Bay, indicates motion.

runningImpala_0409aThis impala was more energetic…

impala_0399as were these.

elephant_0960aThe motion created by the clear off head wave is gorgeous…

as long as one is not too close.

elephants_0453In the afternoon sun…motionless was the way to go.

And we all held our collective breaths when this motion began.

And we all hoped that the baby,

about two feet at the shoulders,

would make it across.

They were snorkling to Namibia

Photo opportunities are all over Australia and New Zealand this morning

as we commemorate,

the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.

While the major centres receive a majority of media publicity

it is the rural areas which were settled by

returned soldiers from two World Wars

It is these same small towns who may have had their

heart and soul ripped out with the death

of well known identities, sportsman and family members.

This post is in memory of of all the service men and women

who have served our country

and whose home was a small rural centre.

For those service men and women…

Lest We Forget.

I would like to visit Courcelette, in France, sometime in the next few years as my Grandfather served on the Western Front and was awarded a Distinguished Conduct Medal at Courcelette during World War I.

W Carlin_Australian9_2inchHowitzerFiring_YpresThis photograph is now in  the public domain – copyright expired…

however, it can be found on the Australian War Memorial Webe Site…

The photo was taken in September 1917

on the Western Front (Belgium),  in the Ypres Area, Voormezeele

My maternal grandfather served with the Light Horse at Gallipoli

and I have read part of his diary many, many years ago.

Unfortunately any such memorabilia was not passed on to me.

I searched the Australian War Memorial website this morning

and have not even found his name, let alone service records.

Cee’s Black and White Challenge:

Geometric Shapes.

A weeks ago we celebrated our wedding anniversary

with a trip to the theatre, in Melbourne

princes-theatre_0423For some reason we had an iPad or iPhone with us…

or MGW did…and I

suggested she take a photo of the ceiling.

While the circle is not complete, in the photo, it conveys the idea,

and suits this challenge, I think.

For those interested we saw a stage production of

the movie, Dirty Dancing.
