Which Way Challenge-15-Wk-38

~~~~~
For my last
Which Way
contribution,
some photos from
our visit to Williamstown last Thursday.
Williamstown_7793Williamstown is one of Melbourne’s western suburbs.
Williamstown_7784The area we visited was close to the Williamstown Marina…
skyline-melbourne_7726-Bfrom where Melbourne’s skyline is clearly visible.
Just for the record…clouds in this photo have not been added
nor removed from the top two.
I had to check the originals to make sure 🙂
However, the clouds/background
has been darkened to accentuate the skyline.
williamstown_7754I added this shot as it gives an idea of the cloud
building up over the city.
To the right is Melbourne (previous photo)…
to the left is the area where top photos were taken.
And if you look carefully, waaaaayyyyy in the background,
just visible above the boats is the curve of
 West Gate Bridge.
This bridge was built to clear all traffic problems, etc.,
and collapsed in October 1970 during construction,
killing 35 workers.
October 15 will mark the 45th anniversary of that tragedy.
Farewell
Geelong features again in this week’s challenge.
geelong-beach_0163Over looking Eastern Beach.
Visitors can drive up around the Botanical Gardens
and capture this view.
The Promenade creates a nice circular walk
around a swimming area for all…
but mainly younger people.
geelong-beach_0158This is the left middle ground of the first photo.
Nearly any day of the year visitors can be found
strolling along the path or relaxing on a bench
in the shade of one of the many palms.
train_0122Getting to Geelong from Melbourne is a comfortable
one hour journey courtesy of V/Line.
train_0149Going to Melbourne is much the same, although…
I did experience a 20 minute delay, within two minutes
 of our destination (Southern Cross) a week or so ago.
All shots taken last Thursday,
September 17, 2015.
When on a photographic walk around a city…Geelong_0012there is only one way to get from this end…
to the other end of a lane.
Geelong_0053It used to be called Shanks’ Pony
when I was much, much younger.
Really!  It’s still not a bad way to describe walking.
There must have been authorisation for
the pile of rubble dumped here!
whichway_0024There is a goods train which arrives at Geelong
on a regular basis.
Trouble is it can be at 2 AM or 2 PM or…
as breakfast is sliding down.
 I am itching to get a shot of it.
This day it failed to arrive…at 2 PM  😦
