Cees-WWCh-Jan24-Snow-or-White

*****

It was not until our driver and guide commented

that this was snow, that I thought…

…we may be in for a white stop.

There had been around 30 cm of snow

overnight and it was still falling.

Falling snow was a definite first for many of us.

I think it would be fair to say that many

of us had never seen…

…let alone ridden in, these vehicles.

From there on we walked up the Athabasca Glacier…

Another aspect of this visit was that it was

the Middle of June.

The sun should have been shining.

Recording the event was high on

our list of priorities also.

The morning we set out to visit the

Columbia Ice Fields and Athabasca Glacier,

in Britsh Columbia,

Canada…

…were not expecting to see freshly falling snow.

It was totally unexpected

in the middle of June,

by locals and tourists alike.
