Victoria’s National Gallery of Australian Art,
covered in geometric patterns.
Fascinating to see the bones of a building…all geometry.
Enjoying the late afternoon sun,

I think I see green rubbish bins in your image, Cee…
…so I added some of my own.

To soften this image…
…I used the Soften preset in Picasa 3…
…and again the Soften preset
was put to good use.
The first two images are of the
Wimmera River at Horsham,
which is just under 300 km
from Geelong and only
a very short drive to the
Little Desert National Park.
A further 75 km north
(and not shown on the map)
is the
Big Desert Wilderness Area.
Mostly when I want to soften an image
I do so in camera and simply
crop the end product.
In November 2020 I visited the
Bannockburn Rural Cemetery
after seeing a Facebook post
about its wildflowers.
As I moved in closer various shades of
flowers became clearer and more evident.
…until at last I found these flowers,
which pop against the soft background.
I have heard the name of this flower
and it still eludes me…
Cropping can make all the difference
to a photo, in my opinion.
Again it is cropping which makes
this small flower…
…pop against its background.
Last, but by no means, least;
one of my favorites.

Soft…and my first thoughts
were of our second born
and his collection of soft toys.
Which he still has!
My next thoughts turned to photography
and soft-focus…not as in bokeh, rather
just to take the harshness out of an image.
