The Vasa was a Swedish warship built
between 1626 and 1628.
Then, August 10, 1628, like the Titanic,
she sank on her maiden voyage after sailing
only 1,300 m (1,400 yd).
The Vasa was salvaged in 1961 and
housed in a temporary museum
called Wasavarvet (“The Vasa Shipyard”)
until 1988 before being
relocated to the Vasa Museum in the
Royal National City Park in Stockholm
which has seen her become one
of Sweden’s most popular
tourist attractions with over
35 million visitors since 1961.
Holmen Huskies at Atla in Norway was another stop
that attracted much attention from those
who loved the little huskies.
Earlier in our trip we visited
Santa’s Village, which straddles
the Arctic Circle,
in Finland.
