would rate, in my opinion,

as one of the most attractive eagles

I have seen.

I captured these images at South Africa’s

Travellers visiting the

Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre

in South Africa, were in 2013,

given the opportuniy to feed a vulture…

I felt certain that I would not need the support

of the handler whose bare fingers are visible

in the bottom left of the above image.

How wrong was I!

I had no hope of supporting a vulture

on an outstretched arm.

According to Google:

…males weigh from 6.3 to 11.5 kg (14 to 25 lb), whereas

females weigh from 7.5 to 14 kg (17 to 31 lb).
