The Eiffel Tower

appears rather imposing in this image,

however, it is only 1083 feet/330m high

and dwarfed by…

…Dubai’s Burj Khalifa

is 2,716.5 feet/828 metres high

and the world’s tallest building.

This elephant was telling us where to go

and I, for one, was happy to let it

have its territory until

it is disturbed next.

The new experience for this post is

the Arabian Desert Safari

during our visit to Dubai.

In 2016 we decided to join a desert safari in Dubai.

Most of the safaris included some dune bashing…

About 20 minutes from Dubai we were in the Arabian desert

…and after another ten minutes of dune bashing

our destination was in sight; a bedouin camp

where we were to enjoy an evening meal.

 

After a barbeque evening meal…

…the entertainment began.

 

Several dance styles were demonstrated to us.

 

Judging by the crowd’s reaction…

 

…fire dancing…

 

…and belly dancing…

 

…proved more popular than any other form

of entertainment that night.

However, the interior took my breath away

I don’t know whether it was gold…

 

or just a golden colour…

However, we were assured that this

was the real thing floating

in our dinks.

For the record were did not stay there,

High Tea or Afternoon Tea

in the Sky View Bar

was all we could afford.
