A visit to St Kilda Pier, this week…

 yielded a couple of shots of either

tough plants or weeds.

I suspect  the latter.

Also please forgive the rough edit in this shot.

Increased saturation to colour the tiny plants,

and added some unwanted colour which I did not

notice until nearly posting time.

Well past my bedtime.

Facebook has been inundating me with memories

of our travels last year.

So I decided to post some previously

unpublished shots of

St James Park

in London.

Crocus, I believe.

 ~~~~The intrigue here was the plant
with the longish, narrow leaves,
below the blue/purple flower and
above the daisy type flowers.
I spent many hours digging great clumps of this
out of the ground in my youth as it
was a big ugly bushy weed.
And here it is in St James Park only
a few hundred metres from Buckingham Palace.
Initially I thought the greenery was succulents…
all leading to France’s
Pont d’Avignon.
Closer inspection tells me they do not look
like any other succulents I have seen and
while not very floral when we viewed them
it would be a spectacular view
if/when the bushes flower.
