Word-of-Day-Challenge-Impavid

~~~~~~~
impavid
fearless, undaunted
~~~~~

Not that I expect to be using impavid in

daily conversation in the near future,

however it sums up this scene perfectly.

Two young exuberant pups.

November and January births.

Yet more like David and Goliath in size.

And although Candi’s length and height

are now closer to Taji,

she is only half the weight and it is no contest

in the strength department.

~~~~~
vestige
a trace or remnant of something that is disappearing
or no longer exists.
****
This African rhino may be one of the last vestiges of
African/Asian rhinos which numbered
around 500,000 rhinos in Africa and Asia
at the start of the twentieth century.
This number had plummeted to
a mere 70,000 by the 1970s.
Fast forward another 50 years and this number
has been again decimated to
just 27,000 rhinos in the wild,
mainly due to poaching
and loss  of habitat.
