The Wedge-tailed Eagle has a wing span that can
reach up to 2.8 m (9.19 feet) and will stand up to 1 m tall.
They can weigh up to 5 kg.
Females are generally larger than males.
Adults are a dark brown-black colour.

The day was hot in Manly (Sydney), however, the
flow was just right to keep one sister cool.
It has beeen a while since I saw water overflowing
our downpipes and gutters

My first Rock image is one taken from my
Super8 movie in April 1975.
Back in those days, we were allowed to climb
Ayers Rock (now known as Uluru).
Uluru/Ayers Rock rises 1,142 feet (348 metres) above
the surrounding desert plain and reaches a
height 2,831 feet (863 metres) above sea level.
The monolith is oval in shape, measuring
2.2 miles (3.6 km) long by 1.5 miles (2.4 km) wide,
with a circumference of 5.8 miles (9.4 km).

The nearby domes of Kata Tjuta (then known as The Olgas,
the tallest of the rocks was known as Queen Olga
and is 1500 feet high).

These rocks are known the world over I think,
and are The 12 Apostles.
Erosion is slowly getting the better of them.
The last apostle to fall fell in July 2005.
Whenever people talk of the 12 Apostles,
they refer to the Western (or postcard) view above.
The eastern view also contains at least three
rock formations which could also
conceivably be Apostles.
Dog Rocks Sanctuary is 12.2 km from Geelong
along the Midlands Highway
at Batesford.
