Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-Two

~~~~~
Starting where I finished last week…with eagles.
Australian Wedge Tail Eagles, nesting.
African Fish Eagles.
The Fish Eagle has a beautiful call,
especially nearing dusk when sound carries.
Males usually have wingspans around 2 m (6.6 ft),
while the female’s wingspan at 2.4 m (7.9 ft) is nearly
the same as the Wedge Tail Eagle.
I have have posted this photo so often that I am
beginning to think it’s nearly time that the Illy coffee chain
offer to sponsor my blog and give these girls a pay rise.
Happy memories from Amsterdam.
Is that me or my twin?
One of the few Wedge Tail Eagle photos I have.
I see plenty, but photograph few.
So re-posts, it is.
This was the scene a few seconds after feeding
Maggie and Sox on Sunday morning.
Although only five visible there was six birds
all looking for some food.
The half slice of bread broke away and I left it for Maggie.
The Maggies had other ideas though…
magpies_0801
and carefully aprooached the bread before
makiong a final pounce and…
and running off with  it.
All photos taken through the screen door so quality not so good.
 However, I have never seen the magpies come so close
and thought they were worth publishing.
My Christmas present from Number 2 son.Quinn_8197He/They are giving me a replacement for Ginger,
who died in October.
The pups are being bred by his girlfriend’s family.
Quinn_8196This is just a reminder as the replacement
will not be ready for a couple of months yet.
Mum‘ is the same colour as this,
so hope there is one the same colour
Odd Ball
Week 51
~~~~~

A few days ago I sighted some

wedge tail eagles…wedge-tail-eagle_0607soaring back and forth over the road.

No Camera….

and no -eagles when I returned with camera.

wedge-tail-eagle_0607a  turned down a side road and captured some

beautiful views (note I said views, not photos)

of these birds as they soared back and forth

over the road, again.

I was so excited and in a rush to get out of my car

to shoot them that I forgot to undo my seat belt!

When I get a bit blasé about eagles my hands will

stop shaking long enough to get some

really good shots…I hope.

Tuesday’s Black and White…in colour…plus one.

It’s a toss-up whether the colour or the Black and White version depicts trees stretching for the sun better.
eagle_0005a

Eagles are just beautiful.

It is interesting that many farmers,

where I was raised would gladly shoot an eagle.

I have not heard one harsh word said against

these birds since we moved.
