The Okavango Delta provided me with inspiration this week.

My contribution for this week’s

Light Greengrass_tree

 I have previously posted this Grass Tree both in colour

and recently in the Black White Thursday Challenge.

Although only green and difficult to grow

and very slow growing,

I think these are a great ornament in the garden.

However, they seem to thrive in the wild.

In Victoria they are protected…

we cannot take them from the wild.

I was told most Victorian nurseries import their stock

from Queensland, which is a totally different climate

and maybe the reason why the Tree we purchased some years ago

as an ornament for our front yard (sadly) only lasted one summer.
