Bourke’s Luck Potholes

Bales of hay temporarily stacked in layers

before sale.

Gibson Steps Beach and layers in sandstone cliffs.

Green trees and grass at Lake Pertobe

Warrnambool,

South West Victoria.

The Eildon Weir is the only reservoir image I have I’m afraid.

Lake Eildon covers 13,832 hectares and when filled

to capacity, holds 3,334,158 megalitres of water.

Wide Open Spaces:2

*****

A fraame from my Supere 8 movie from

atop Ayres Rock, now known as Uluru.

Closer to home is Gibson Steps Beach…

…and the wide open spaces of

Bass Strait.

About ten minutes from home is…

…the Moorabool Valley.

This week’s colour challenge is focussed…

(mainly) on Alaska’s

Margerie Glacier

…which is located in

Glacier Bay.

*****

After reading Terri’s post this morning I decided

that a couple of my Gibson Steps photos

were eligible for this post.

At least I hope they are…

This was my first choice…

…and obviously this was my second choice from

Gibson Steps Beach.

This image was captured in the

Portage Valley about 65 kilometres

from Anchorage and surrounded by

the Chugach Mountain Range

Portage Valley is home to the

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Centre

While on the subject of home,

a whole lot closer to home…

…is Gibson Steps Beach

It took the better part of half a day

to cross Botswana’s,

Makgadikgadi Salt Pans

which form part of the

Kalahari Desert.

This antelope was the only sign of life

we sighted in an otherwise

empty landscape.

The Arabian Desert, however,

was full of sand and

not a lot more.

There appeared to be a lot of empty space

in the Okavango Delta

when we were airborne…

…again, however, even from this height appearances

can be deceiving…

…as apart from the tractor and trailer

There could be several animals

seeking refuge from the sun in

the shade of the trees.

Back in the Kalahari, upon leaving LeKhubu Island

we travelled for sveral hours across

these empty spaces.

Along The Great Ocean Road

is an empty space rather closer to home,

only this day there was a crowd (of two) on the

Gibson Steps Beach.

The Burj Khalifa

Dubai

United Arab Emirates

Views from observation deck at level 148

which is 555 metres (1,821 ft) high.

The total height of the Burj Khalifa is

829 metres (2,722 ft, or just over half a mile)

We were waiting to go somewhere

when I noticed this shot.

I leaned back a little,

captured the image and

was promptly asked not

to take anymore photos.

High above the surrounding statues in Oslo’s

Vigeland Sculpture Park is this one of a woman

apparently being atacked by a reptile of sorts.

Along The Great Ocean Road

you will  find the

Gibson Steps…

…and its beautiful, sandy, beach.
