A calving
Margerie Glacier…
…makes a bit of a splash as ice hits the sea.
It is not until you realise that
the Glacier face is about 250 feet high (above water)
and the splash is about one third the height of the face
and factor in the amount of ice required
to create a splash that high…
…that you realise that these small vessels
might conceivably be crushed
should they wander too close
to the action.
