In South Africa’s

Kruger National Park…

…we discovered a whole new meaning to the words

Zebra Crossing.

Much too big to try and hurry on.

In drought  years I would often come across a flock

of 5,000 to 10,000 sheep under

a drover’s supervision.

Thankfully I only had to do this once in ten years,

a herd of drover’s cattle was crossing the bridge

in the opposite direction.

I have no idea how many the were, just one simple fact.

I waited for 15-20 minutes for the bridge to clear.

Waiting was the only safe way to cross as these

cattle were running across the 5 or 6 abreast

Definitely a traffic hazard…

…so, please give way to slow moving local traffic…

…and be prepared to wait a while when

driving in Botswana.

As with all large birds,

the Wedge Tail Eagle may appear

a tad ungainly at first, however,

once airborne they are

very graceful.
