…one of the most popular
tourist attractions in Rome.
see or perceive briefly or partially.
Each morning of our European holiday,
our tour director would begin with the phrase…
‘...well you’ve done (insert city name),
tonight we will be in (insert city name)…’
While I thoroughly enjoyed our trip…
a glimpse of each city…the highlights.
The following year I returned
to Arras in France for a
Western Front Battlefields tour.
Because I was in Arras for 5 nights
I think I enjoyed that brief trip
as much as any of the cities
we visited the previous year.
Rome’s Trevi Fountain
was one of the biggest disappointments
during our visit in my opinion.
I had mixed it with another Roman fountain
which I had seen in a movie or on television.
That’s right I had not done any research.
I like to see things first hand and
I feel the internet can spoil the ‘Wow’ moment.
I can say I was surprised when
we came upon Trevi Fountain.
It was surrounded by people who
were totally disconnected with other visitors
Planning, bored or discussing the photo
they had taken a few minutes earlier,
while others tried to get a clear shot.
All the ‘sitters’ were utterly disconnected
to the needs, or wants,
of their fellow tourists.
Black and White Challenge.
My favourite, so far, fountain is to be found in
Brugge’s Het Zand Square, Belgium.
These two shots are after dark shots
and I thought it truly beautiful.
Trevi Fountain in Rome was crowded,
although we were lucky to see it.
It had been closed for several years for renovations.
it is merely a close up of the water of the
Legislative Assembly Building’s fountain…
in Victoria, Canada.
My contribution for this week’s challenge…
A Face In The Crowd
The first two photos I posted recently…
in another challenge.
They may be easily found.
This morning I found a new face in the crowd.
Can you find that face?
