Why is she called “Limpy” ???

She was born with a deformed foot. I’m told if she is hungry and you are on the menu within range she loses the limp 🙂 To see her walking you wonder how she survives though.

I hope that doesn’t mean she’s in pain ….

I thought the same when I first saw her walk. however, she never once appeared in pain except when her cubs were pulling her tail (literally). She sat back, with a full belly, and told the kids to go look at the tourists 🙂 And they did…sit and watch us for about half an hour. It was magic.
These are a couple of posts which have feature Limpy and/or her cubs

No … you’d know if she was; and I’m sure she couldn’t sit round fatly, digesting in peace. 🙂
All your posts about her (and the kids) are beautiful, Woolly – thanks !!

My pleasure…and I’m mean that. It was something I had never dreamed of…so close to wild animals. Now I would like to improve my photography and if a job became available….well lets just say the term ‘wildlife photographer’ is appealing, at least from the comfort of the living room 🙂

Thank you…she was a fantastic subject. Nearly ran over her that night..as in the guide nearly put our vehicle over her she was so close to the track.
