the tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities,
especially by seeking entertainment or engaging in fantasy.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I could not agree more.

During the past decade or so I have often stated

that my reading is a form of escapism.

 

But I also have to stress that my favourite

genre is fiction.

 

I am fairly certain that I do not have

a favourite author….

 

….more like authors.

It really depends on the story.

Some of my favourites have managed

to write some shocking stories in my opinion.
