Cee’s
Black and White Challenge:
Signs.
~~~~~
Botswana signs this week.
It’s hard to imagine anyone silly enough to drive off road
and into the territory of theses endangered giants.
Personally, I think I would like a bit more than 50 metres…
and when you see where the sign is located… not much more than
50 metres from the temporary, restaurant, bar etc…
and about the same distance from the
new building…the old one had burned down.
It could be a hungry stopover if one of the rhinos
decided the shade of the tree was an ideal place
to camp for a while.
These lookouts surround the Kharma Rhino Sanctuary
and are a sign that members of the Army were
keeping watch over the Sanctuary with orders to
shoot first and ask questions later.
After a week in a two person tent we were looking forward
to a bit of luxury at Kasane’s, Chobe Safari Lodge.
For an Aussie, seeing a sign pointing to 3 different countries and
none of them the country I was in, was something new.
We watched the sunset over Namibia…
the other side of the Chobe River.
Ten to fifteen kilmetres north-east of Chobe Safari Lodge
the borders of
Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia
meet.
