Birds with a colour as part of their name.
Featuring only Australian birds
this week.
Straw Necked Ibis.
So named because of straw coloured
feathers on its neck.
I doubt ‘straw’ is a colour but added it
because flocks of Straw Necked Ibis
used to invade our paddocks to eat grubs
which thrived under certain weather conditions.
White Faced Heron
White Necked Heron
or…
…Pacific Heron
Australian White Ibis
Red Rump Parrot
Red Rump Parrot
Black Cockatoo.
A bit of a novelty this far south
