Bridge over Swan River

Western Australia

Under on the Rocky Mountaineer.

The only time I have been below

West Gate Bridge

One Word Sunday Challenge:...Below

Black and White Challenge.

While cruising the Swan River (Perth-Fremantle)

we were shown large, expensive properties

built on the river’s banks.

My next photos are known as God’s Window.

Located a short drive from

Mount Sheba Resort…

…in South Africa’s, Blyde River Canyon,

the views are spectacular

totally befitting a view through

God’s Windows.

If ever you are going to visit New Zealand’s

Hobbit Movie Set at Matamata,

be sure to consider

Bucklands Air BnB.

Only a five-minute drive and you are

in a world of Hobbits.

The image above is taken through

the window of Bucklands BnB.

Probably not a small building,

but certainly not the largest either.

Small front buildings.

A house boat.

Definitely a small house.

Maybe the tiniest house in Amsterdam.

I often state that size is relative.

This church would have been rather large when built,

however, now dwarfed by its neighbours

I always find it fascinating to sit and…

…watch the movements outside at an airport.

In this case it was Auckland nearly 12 months ago.

Cruising the Swan River in Western Australia.

Viewing some expensive real estate.

Inside looking out…and…

…outside looking in.

It is the same window.

My favorite ‘window’ shot from last year.

The view out our Matmata BnB in New Zealand.  🙂

Matamata is near the Hobbit Movie Set

Hugh’s Views & News: Windows

Decided to stick to Church windows

this week.

Saint Matthew’s Church,

Manly, Sydney.

Saint John the Baptist Church,

Arras, France.

Wesley Church in Fremantle…

Western Australia.

Finally, it maybe a stretch to call this a windows,

however, it can be found in

Cathédrale Notre-Dame-Immaculée

(Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception),

also known as Saint Nicholas Cathedral and also

contains the tombs of

Princess Grace and Prince Rainier

of Monaco.

Thursday Lingering Look at Windows-Wk-50

Decided to look at windows from the other side this week.

The following shots are from our cruise from Perth to Fremantle on

Western Australia’s Swan River.

If my memory serves me correctly, and the information provided is correct, the buildings on the waterfront in this photo all belong to the same family.  A careful look and you will see one or two houses about half way up the river bank with the same colour roof which are also part of this waterfront mansion.

Certainly an enjoyable cruise with time in Fremantle for shopping.

Well worth the day out if ever in Perth.

Which Way Challenge-Week-16

Back in Fremantle, Western Australia, again this week, with a triple treat of Which Ways.

Can you pick them?

Fremantle_0271Should have it by now!

Fremantle_0318This should give it away.

Phoneography-Perth Bell Tower

My Phoneography contribution for several weeks.

We spent a few days in Perth after returning from South Africa.

We were told one of the ‘must sees’ was  the Perth Bell Tower

I featured the Bell Tower in Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge a week or so ago.

The Tower houses the oldest bell in Australia which once rang out from the Upton Grey church in Hampshire, according the above information.

We were lucky enough to arrive shortly before the bells began to peal and had some time to explore the tower and view the bells as they tolled 🙂

Unfortunately I cannot upload video to my blog.

The Bell Tower is well worth a visit while in Perth.
