Minus the watermarks….

..this image takes up space on one of our walls.

When taken, I was simply playing around

with camera settings.

At the time I was new to DSLR photography

and was irritated that I did not have the same control

over aperture and shutter as I did

with my Olympus SLRs.

MGW insisted that it be hung and was telling a relative,

at the weekend, that it was one of her favourites.

While speaking of Olympus SLRs, they were

my go to cameras back in the late 70s to late 80s.

During that decade I captured wedding day events

for many friends and relatives and would have

been down on the beach recording the event

for the happy couple.

FriendlyFriday: Secrets

Friendly Friday

Some unexpected moments

from 2018.I rose with the sparrows and drove 45 minutes

to Point Lonsdale for a sunrise shoot last March.

Expectations were high.

Results were low.

And after being blown around by a chilly breeze

I decided to pack my gear away and head home.

I had walked about a quarter of the way

back along the pier

when this rainbow appeared above the lighthouse.

I had no more than two minutes

to grab a camera and capture some images…

then it was gone as quickly as it appeared.

Also this time last year I had no idea we would

celebrate our Wedding Anniversary with

First Class Dining in a private cabin

aboard the Q Train.

June in Canada and we did not expect

to experience falling snow….even on

the Columbia Icefield.

This time last year we did expect a trip

to Auckland for an engagement party.

However, a wedding date had not been settled upon

and so our September/October trip

back (to New Zealand) for the

wedding of Number 1 Son

to Number 2 Daughter-in-Law

was unexpected but enjoyable.

By this stage I had retreated to the cooler comfort of the car,

discarded my suit jacket while waiting to drive

the newlyweds to their next photo location.

Weekly Photo Challenge-Chaos

My contribution for this week’s challenge…

Yesterday, Friday November 4 was…

wedding-chaos_3031Number 2 son’s wedding day.

wedding-chaos_3034Four boys/young men, (mid 20s) descended

on our house to dress

This morning our kitchen table was as above.

Although these shots have had some additions included…

all said additions were discovered on the floor of

bedrooms or our living room.

They have about twenty-four hours to

reclaim their goods and chattels.

Do they want boxes for their shoes?

Or Wedding boxes?

Do they want he coat hangers for their suits…I do!

Twenty four hours
