Nature’s greys from Moorabool Valley…also near Geelong

A definition of bench is a seat upon which

two or more people may sit.

So two out-door benches…

which meet that definition.

This photo is of a very different ‘bench’…

and this, a view from that bench.

The 2016 census put the population of Steiglitz at 53.

In the 1860s-1890s the gold rush population

was over 1,000 and was probably the reason

for the construction of the Court House.

Finally, a work  bench I made a few weeks ago.

It was made to take the pressure off my back and knees.

  And I think it fits my definition…

two or more people could sit upon it. 🙂

Tuesday-PC-Wk119-Wind

~~~~~~~
I think (think because I photographed two windfarms
in recent years and there are no identifable landmarks)…
this may be the windfarm near our old home.
It was, with 104 turbines the largest, when built,
in the Southern Hemisphere.
Since then a windfarm of 231 turbines has been,
or is being, constructed
about an hours drive from Geelong.
Wind in the neighbours trees.
Kite surfing…
at Torquay beach.
Finally, windsurfers also near Torquay.
Somee BWs from Torquay again…
only this time from the…
engagement party venue.
This was the only table of munchies in sight
when we arrived….and when we left.
Constantly replenished during the night,
with friendly staff ensuring we had some
heartier finger food in our hands all night.
Wasn’t long before yours truly
ran up a white flag.
Black and White Tuesday
~~~~~

I have been wanting to visit Torquay again

for some time now.

With six-foot waves forecast today seemed to be ideal.

Just shows how much I know about surfing.

 The waves were there, however it was too windy,

and only a few brave souls took to the water.

And my ageing eyes found it difficult to see them

in the water such was their distance from shore.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-Letter-W

~~~
My contribution for
this week’s challenge
Letter-W
(Needs to start with W and have two vowels in the word )
First up, back in South Africa’s
Kruger National Park.
Like the zebra crossings
it was a matter of waiting…patiently.
They were not in a hurry.
However, it appears this wildebeest was
moving very slowly.
At least Leo is smiling.
Was Willy the Wildebeest saying, kiss………
A Surf Coast Victoria, Wipeout.
 Our shopping,banking and business centre,
until we moved off the farm.
Fifty-five kilometres, one way,
ensured that a trip to Warrnambool
wasn’t just for a hamburger! 🙂
And should you be having difficulty
sorting out the syllables,
this may help……Warr/nam/bool
And if you really want to sound local
it sounds a bit like this….War/na/bool
🙂
