One Word Photo Challenge-Rhinoceros

~~~~~
My rhinoceros photos are not zoo pics…
They were taken in a Sanctuary in Africa which is
guarded twenty-four hours a day,
365 days each year.
Signs of poaching a dealt with on a
shoot first ask questions later‘ basis.
It would be ice to think that if this
beautiful specimen has gone to rhino heaven
that passing was of natural causes
and not due to a poacher.
My positive post comes…
at the end of a 90 minute trial ferry service
from Geelong to Melbourne.
Seeing the sun rising under the West Gate Bridge,
sailing under said bridge and
looking up to see the Australian flag flying high
are all things not experienced when driving.
As we motored up the Yarra River
to our, 0745, Docklands destination,
the sunrise was there to guide us.
Perhaps not the most spectacular sunrise photographed,
but certainly better than full cloud cover.
All-in-all a very positive early morning outing.
One Word Photo Challenge-Pool
~~~~~

Tried for some variety…

A small prize pool.

The temporary swimming pool we had

after three inches of rain

in the summer of 2005.

The pool is our garage.

And if you visit Cairns you should swim in this pool…

which, if viewed carefully appears to have no sea wall.

On our only visit to Cairns I wandered

down to the beach wondering why

no-one else was there.

I walked out to ankle depth and upon returning

to the sand spotted a

don’t swim because crocodiles frequent this beach

sign.

Needless to say I heeded the sign thereafter.
