Lake Wendouree,

home to all rowing events in 1956.

Track and field and Opening/Closing Ceremonies

were held at the

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)…

…in front of the newly built Olympic Stand

and around 100,000 spectators.

The most recent Olympic Venue we have visited is

Whistler Mountain,

British Columbia,

Canada, 2018.

Signs found in…

Arras,

France.

An evening at the Moulin Rouge is

worth every cent.

Finally a sign that indicates the

Winter Olympics

were held at Whistler.

And a similar sign indicating

the site of the 1956 Rowing

at Ballarat, west of Melbourne.

Promenade des Anglais, Nice, in 2016.

Brugge, Belgium.

I was certain that these flags were flying outside

a United Nations, or UNESCO,

building in Brugge.

However, MGW’s dairy and Google both agree

that it is a concert hall.

Our Australian flag flying over

Lake Wendouree in Ballarat.

Lake Wendouree was the location of

all rowing events for the

1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
