A Word a Week Photography Challenge-Shadow

My Word of the Week Challenge-Shadow

~~~~~
Three unrelated, but three of my favourite  ‘shadow‘ photos.
~~~~~

Door_1857BW

This church was photographed for its doors and windows.

It was not until reviewing the shot that I noticed what a great  shadow the old eucalyptus tree had created on the roof.

A silhouette in mid winter.

Finally, this will be in my top ten, not necessarily for the quality of the photo, but more for the quality of the experience.  After all, it’s not every day that an elephant wanders out of the shadows a mere fifteen metre from your tent.

My Word of the Week Challenge-High

Grey_0133b

High up in a tree we sighted this beautiful African Harrier-Hawk…

…luckily it struck a few poses  for a few minutes…

~~~~~
…before noticing that we were newcomers to Kruger Park.
Although its talons had a strong grip on the tree branch…
…the hawk decided enough was enough and…
…took flight.
Grey_0144b
…stretching its wings high and wide in the warm midday sun…
…and with the breeze brushing through its wing tips it was soon out of sight, but not before it’s gracefulness was captured by more than me.
PS:  MGW has already said she felt like throwing up after hearing the text accompanying this post.  Just hope it is not contagious 😉
