When in Germany’s Rhineland region…

…we just had to taste a slice of

Black Forest Cake.

Afternoon tea stop in the

Rhineland Region of Germany

and it seemed only right to try out

some Black Forest Cake

at its point of origin.

These were desserts at

Auckland’s (NZ) Sky Tower…

…we we celebrated No. 1 Daughter-in-law’s

birthday in 2018…

…a few days prior to No. 1 Son’s wedding

to No. 2 DiL…an Auckland girl.

Inside looking out.

With our branding legislation as it is,

it is difficult to know if this sign means

the whole train or the window

to which the sign is affixed.

Outside looking in.

Commuter train arriving at

Geelong North Station

from Melbourne.

Dubai train.

MGW loved these trains because ladies and children

sit apart from male train travellers.

A Rhineland train.

A Melbourne train from Melbourne’s Sofitel Hotel.

We were there for breakfast after our

Hot Air balloon flight over Melbourne.

The view is from the male public toilets.

Layers from Italy and Germany

this week.

Layers of Black Forest Cake.

One of my favourite buildings and its layers

Inside, the layers are smaller…

…but more plentiful.

And the smaller layers create

the larger layers.

spill

cause or allow (liquid) to flow over the edge
of its container, especially unintentionally.

Rhine Falls did not appear to be a large water fall.

However, the water spilling over the spillway

dwarfs the onlookers of the platform.

SUNDAY-STILLS-PC-Time

~~~~~
Time stood still for Sunday.
Interior of a cuckoo clock.
Although I haven’t done it often, apparently
meeting under the clocks at Flinders Street Station
was a common place to meet someone
particularly during earlier part of the twentieth century.
Analogue clocks grew old and those in power
decided to replace them with digital clock faces.
The Victorian public did not approve and now
the clocks have a digital ‘motor’ with and analoge face.
And we can still meet under the clocks.
THURSDAY’S SPECIAL-Way
Way
While searching for this week’s post…
I found this sight-seeing bus…a way
for visitors to see Melbourne.
York’s signpost pointed the way to
various point in the city…
as did these signs on a
Freeway/Autobahn in Germany.
While visiting Fromelles we had to walk down this path…
to see the site of the Fromelles mass graves
which were recently exhumed and created
the Fromelles Military Cemetery.
Finally, this is the way to the
Toronto Avenue Military Cemetery
in Belgium.
