Two of Geelong’s Libraries.

About a ten minute drive from the CBD,

the Waurn Ponds Library

is over the road from the shopping centre

of the same name.

I have been told one either loves or hates

the architecture.

In 2014 the Geelong Library was

in the process of a makeover.

Two years alter it appears finished.

Not sure if it was and I still

have not darkened its doors.

My library contact is all

online these days.

under construction.

I have yet to set foot inside the doors mainly

due to the fact that I borrow audio books online.

who have been encouraged to read…

and be themselves while still at school.

These last few shots are of

a secondary school library in Geelong.

Students are encouraged to come to the library

and it is open all day as opposed to

some school libraries which lock their doors

while students are at recess or lunch

Building from Geelong.

Known locally as the

Upside Down Building.

Contains government offices I believe.

A 100 metres or so down the road is the Geelong Library.

It was in the early stages of a makeover in 2014.

Looks good now.

The Waurn Ponds Library.

About a fifteen minute drive from Geelong’s CBD.

A design which has caused some controversy among locals.
