Decided to stick to Church windows

this week.

Saint Matthew’s Church,

Manly, Sydney.

Saint John the Baptist Church,

Arras, France.

Wesley Church in Fremantle…

Western Australia.

Finally, it maybe a stretch to call this a windows,

however, it can be found in

Cathédrale Notre-Dame-Immaculée

(Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception),

also known as Saint Nicholas Cathedral and also

contains the tombs of

Princess Grace and Prince Rainier

of Monaco.

My

Fabric

Travel Theme.

While in South Africa we were treated to an afternoon

of entertainment by a local dance troupe.
fabric_0383Dancers were dressed in colourful fabrics

and had several…

to match each set of dances.

fabric_0396We also watched dancers dancing in the

parking area of a shopping centre near

Victoria Falls last year.

fabric_0307In Fremantle we sighted these balls covered in

what appears to be knitted woollen rectangles.

I have no idea what they represented.
Roof_1940

 And the fabric coating the roof of many old churches is thin slate rectangles similar to this.

Camellia – Snow.

~~~~~
Hopefully this is as close to real snow as we will ever see.
camellia_0002
Early in the week I noticed that one of our ground cover camellias had flowered.
~~~~~

camellia_0004

As they are only six or eight inches above ground level and is easy to miss them if one’s mind is wandering.

~~~~~
camellia_0006As it mature and there are more blooms, the mix of sea-side daisy and camellia blooms should make this corner of the garden look rather nice…me thinks.
Travel Theme-Unexpected
My
Unexpected
Travel Theme
for this week.
~~~~~

In previous posts I have referred to Ginger (my black and tan kelpie) as the digger in the garden.  We also refer to her as ‘the princess’ as she tends to prance around the yard and delicately eats her food.  Maggie, on the other hand is four times as heavy and gulps her food down with no finesse at all.

~~~~~
dirt_0008
It was, therefore, totally unexpected to open the curtains and see…
dirt_0007the mess in soil which was only laid soil twenty four hours earlier.  Also unexpected was that I caught the culprit red-handed.  Although not captured in a photograph I think the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming.
You be the judge!
ginger_0022Ginger looking clean and innocent, AND about twenty-five feet from the crime scene.
I am sure she is saying ‘Not me!’
~~~~~

Maggie_0020Which only leaves one other possible culprit.

Fountain Grass is going to replace some flax plants if they die.

One has died and the fountain grass is proving to be a tidier plant than flax.

Travel Theme-Cities

My

Cities

Travel Theme

for this week.

~~~~~
Femantle and Perth are my featured cities for this week’s challenge.
fremantle_0280The Bakehouse in the main Street of Fremantle…
fremantle_0278was doing a thriving trade the day we visited.
fremantle_0277
Like many coastal cities Fremantle is a combination of the original and modern building.
fremantle_0241~~~~~
fremantle_0290Not as old as buildings in other countries I have visited…
fremantle_0296
however, considering Fremantle was settled around 1829 it is one of our older buildings.
perth_0231
 Back in Perth…
perth_0233
the new surrounds the old.
perth_0236Inside this thoroughly modern exterior is a relatively old Bell Tower which has now become a must see when in Perth.
perth_0353With capacity of just under 15,000, the Perth Arena is home to the Perth Wildcats, basketball team, and home for many other cultural events in Perth.
