Seasonal challenges are another which are

often difficult if hosted in the northern hemisphere.

However this time I do have

some summer time photos.

After leaving a chilly Australia in early June

we were surprised how warm it was in Alaska.

Appears these Alaskan Huskies agreed with us.

They certainly enjoyed their dip

in the Chena River (Fairbanks)

after demonstrating their skills working as a team.

Our spokesperson, Ken…

expressing, on our behalf, our gratitude to Kaczy

for the wonderful person she was/is during

the Alaskan leg of our travels.

A week or so earlier Ken had acted in a similar capacity

when we bade Bob farewell in Vancouver.

And each time we are able to rise before the sun

to capture images such as this,

no matter what aches and pains there maybe,

or how cold the morning,

we should off up a prayer of gratitude

simply because we are able.

On our last afternoon as a group we took

a Riverboat Discovery cruise on the Chena River.

One of our stops was to learn about huskies.

They were only too eager to show us how

they could pull a quad bike.

Note the husky on its kennel carrying out

its own investigation into what was happening

over the water.

On our last afternoon as a group we took

a Riverboat Discovery cruise on the Chena River.

One of our stops was at an Athabascan village,

where Robyn showed us many aspects of village life.

When I saw the word of the day was ‘resplendent’

I thought of Robyn wearing this traditional Athabascan coat.

Not only did it look resplendent from the front,

the craftsmanship continued on the back as well.
