The Eiffel Tower 324 metres high

appears taller than it is..

However standing at 828 metres high

Dubai’s

Burj Khalifa

dwarfs the surrounding city.

From the viewing area in the

Burj Khalifa Tower

the Dubai Mall Fountain

is barely visible.

And yet those buildings are

four or five stories high.

Burj Khalifa vs other tall structures.

Landmarks from any where

The Eiffel Tower…324 metres high.

The Tower in which Big Ben (the Bell)

resides is 96 metres high.

According too Google the

Geelong Football Club ground

is 5.1 kilometres as the crow flies.

Without the light towers, which are 73 metres high,

the ground would be difficult to spot

even from this vantage point.

***

Although I don’t have a photo,

this morrning Melbourne was laying claim to

having the tallest Southern hemisphere building.

At 388 metres high, the 108 storey

hotel and apartment building

is located in Melbourne’s

Southbank area.

In June 2020 we were supposed to be

visiting Africa again.

While we are in good health….

…the Safari has been postponed…

…until next year…hopefully.

Word-of-Day-Challenge-Unlikely

~~~~~
unlikely
not likely to happen, be done, or be true; improbable.
When planning our time in Paris…
…it was highly unlikely that I
would not visit the Eiffel Tower…
…or visit the Moulin Rouge which was
a wonderful dinner and show.
INFORMAL
information not previously known to (someone).
Prior to…
…visiting Paris this, a daylight view,
was the only view, I had ever seen of
The Eiffel Tower.
So it was certainly news to me
to see the Tower bathed in lights.
Let-alone this beam of light piercing the night skies...
…from its peak.
~~~~~~~

Seems there were many towering photo

opportunities during our European holiday.

The Tower of Pisa.

Maybe not a tower per se, but

York Minster does tower over visitors…

…and locals alike.

The ceiling of

Notre Dame de Paris

also towers above its visitors.

And still towers over Paris…

…rivalled only by this Parisian tower.

On our way back Down Under

we stopped off in Dubai

for a few nights.

I think the Burj Khalifa Tower is my favourite

just for its sheer size.
