Around an hour drive from Vancouver Island’s

Victoria we came to the township of Chemainus,

famous for its Murals.

Some of these murals will follow in my

Photo Walk post.

These murals are not in any specific place,

that is a Mural Park, or similar.

Rather…

…they are on any wall…

…in the town.

Murals also…

…focussed on the pioneering days…

… when wind…

…steam…

…and manual labour was the way tasks were completed.

All murals, large or small, are…

…numbered so that visitors can

read the story of each mural.

I am assuming that is the reason for the numbers.

We barely had time to find our way

into town and back again

photographing murals as we found them.

Soon we were back on the coach to

catch our ferry across to the mainland.

I have seen/photographed

a few murals in Australia…

…but none as good as the

Chemainus Murals…

…at Chemainus…

…on Canada’s…

~~~~~
…Vancouver Island.
~~~~~

Closer to home…

…is Melbourne’s…

…Hosier Lane.

I love the Hosier Lane street art…

…some of which is surrounded…

…by graffiti.

Don’t know what happened last week.

Honestly thought Murals was this week.

As we left Vancouver Island…

we stopped at the town of Chemainus…

to view its famous Murals.

….before catching a ferry to

the Canadian mainland.

Although most of these photos are from

Vancouver Island we found plenty

of moving water in Canada.

Fountain outside Legislative Assembly Building,

Victoria, Vancouver Island.

This snail fountain can be found just inside

the Butchart Gardens gate.

Jumping to Alberta and Banff’s

Cascade Gardens provides this waterfall.

Known for its murals, Chemainus can be

discovered on Vancouver Island.

Finally, possibly my favourite Canadian fountain is the

Ross Fountain in the Butchart Gardens,

Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Finally, maybe a slightly different take on moving water.

We had to cross what seemed to be a fairly narrow path

each time we entered/exited our hotel in Victoria, BC.

The Parkside has some huge fish in this pond.
