It was over forty years…

…since I first heard of Butchart Gardens.

The wait was well worth it.

The floral displays were…

…simply gorgeous…

…and all parts…

…of the gardens…

…were immaculately cared for.

My favourite places.

Locally it has to be Griffin Gully Pier

over looking Geelong’s

Corio Bay.

I missed out on visiting Butchart Gardens in 1976.

The wait was long but certainly worth it

when we visited in 2018.

Accommodation during my 1976 visit to Banff

consisted of a sleeping bag and a small tent.

Forty-two years later and a lot more comfort

and more memories

Just read your post Terri and realised

there was a reason why you chose ‘green’ 😄

I may be stretching the terms

doors and doorways this week.

Still in Canada’s

Vancouver Island.

Still in the Butchart Gardens,

this first image is a doorway leads us to

the Japanese Garden.

The gateway between old and new

Chemainus (presumably).

Finally, a fair dinkum doorway

taken from our horse and carriage

ride around Victoria.

The Ross Fountain in the Butchart Gardens.

It reminded me of a mini version of

the Dubai Mall Fountain

Victoria Harbour….

…just on…

…night fall.

I didn’t think of it at the time, however…

….I really wish I had taken a ride

on the H2O Taxi…just for fun.

During our travels of the past twelve months

we were fortunate to visit several gorgeous gardens.

Butchart Gardens, Schönbrunn Palace, Versailles Palace

and finally Hamilton Gardens in New Zealand.

The Gardens which I really wanted to visit were

The Butchart Gardens on Canada’s Vancouver Island.

We were so pleased that we arrived a day or two early.

This gave us time to look around Victoria

prior to our tour commencing.

Because of this we spent much more time exploring

Butchart the our tour had allocated.

We were just finishing a walk through the Sunken Gardens

when were were scheduled to leave.

Public transport took us back to Victoria

and we both would recommend this to anyone visiting

Victoria and Butchart Gardens.

Bourke Street

Melbourne, Victoria.

Somewhere in the French Countryside.

This may say something about my taste in art,

but it is  one of my favourite images.

A one off, never, to be captured again image

of a spider web in a canola crop a few years ago.

MGW doe not share my enthusiasm.

It can even be turned into bright, stronger colours

if that is your taste.

This was my first piece of photography art.

The now defunct Weekly Photo Challenge

wanted a CD cover design.

It interested it is simply a shot of water in Corio Bay.

And I love the mood in these two images…

…of Melbourne, last week.
