well known, respected, and admired for past achievements.

I’m not sure that Queen Victoria would have been

thought of as ‘illustrious’ during her reign.

However, she did manage to get

a memorial outside Buckingham Palace.

Word of the Day Challenge:  Illustrious

Travel Theme-March

Travel Theme.

As many visitors do we waited at

Buckingham Palace for

the Changing of the Guard…or at least part of it.

We watched as a steady stream of tourists

marched to the Palace

And then were surprised to see a band marching from

the Palace precinct down The Mall…

followed by this group.

My feet envied this group.

 buckingham_palace_0824And still tourists came…

in their groups.

Finally the ceremony began.

However, I have been left wondering if budget constraints

have reduced the size, or number,

of personnel participating in this ceremony.

I am sure it was a grander affair in 1976.

But then again, wasn’t everything better

when we were younger.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-Windows

My contribution for this week’s

To begin with, some windows from…

Westminster Abbey.

Don’t think there was glass in this window,

but a window it is.

MGW always said she wanted to marry a prince,

so as soon as we neared Buckingham Palace

she was trying to peer through windows to see if

there was a prince available.

I told she should have looked behind her…

her prince was patiently waiting.

They say the eyes are a window to the soul.

In this case, apart from showing a gentle soul,

it has also reflected an ideal selfie.
