FOWChallenge-Avarice

~~~~~
~~~~~

avarice

extreme greed for wealth or material gain.

During our visit to…

Schonbrunn Palace…

we were told that it was known as

the Summer Cottage…

…all 1,441 rooms of it.

The ostentatious Palace and surrounds…

…all point to an avarice family…

…demonstrating total disregard for the rest of the population.

Similarly the Palace of Versailles…

…and its surrounds…

…and its 2300 room Palace also demonstrates

the avarice nature of its owners were

in one of France’s harshest historical periods.

Word-of-Day-Challenge-Ribald

~~~~~
ribald
referring to sexual matters in an amusingly coarse or irreverent way.
~~~~~

I think the decor in this Viennese toilet

could be described as ribald.

Rather crude…

…coarse…

…and most…

…definitely…

…irreverent.

However, it brought a…

…to the face of most of those who viewed it.

I have added an escalator into

this week’s BW challenge

Escalator inside Dubai’s

Burj Al Arab.

Inside the Burj Al Arab elevator.

Included a colour version just to show the difference.

An undercover walk at Mount Sheba

Finally, our accommodation in Vienna

was at the Imperial Riding School…

…where there were some long straight walks to our rooms.

Walks.

Walkers alongside Ballarat’s Lake Wendouree.

Lake Wendouree was the site of all rowing events

during the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

The walk from Eastern Beach car park.

At the top of the hill, you are only a five minute walk

from Geelong’s Central Business District.

The reverse view down to the Promenade.

Nearing the top of Lucerne’s

Mt Rigi.

The walk in context.

Walking in Schoenbrunn Palace gardens

We didn’t have the time or energy

to walk all to the back of the garden.
