Daily Prompt-Mentor

When we purchased Taji we had hoped

that Maggie would show what is right and wrong

at an early age. After day one, Maggie began

teaching young Taji the ropes.

Taji’s favourite lessons

were her bone eating lessons…

these she watched intently and participated in

whenever the opportunity arose.

Occasionally Taji would ask Maggie…

how to play.

We think Maggie was obliging.

Maggie certainly showed Taji where the apples

are kept and how easy it is to get a feed.

Taji was a quick learner and soon knew

the best spot to sleep where she could

see her humans behind the glass.

Whether it was because they were/are

distantly related we are not sure,

however, we see Maggie’s habits

in Taji nearly every day.

Maggie certainly was an

excellent mentor.

Daily Prompt-Observe

I don’t think

Maggie (our Labrador) and Soxie (the cat),

were ever really friends.

 We often made observations

about them as in this photo.

Soxie has the best spot on Maggie’s blanket

while Maggie appears a little forlorn

and she is just holding on to a share.

Daily Prompt-Astonish

I’m not sure who was most astonished

after this sequence of event…

the chasee, the chaser

or the photographer.

Even though it was only a couple of years

before she passed away, Maggie still had

enough life in her to despatch strangers

from our back yard.

Fortunately the fence (post top RH corner)

saved her from the embarrassment of not

being able to catch this one.

Daily Prompt-Bestow

This week MGW, at the suggestion of our vet,

bestowed upon our canine friends…

 a brand spanking new Kong.

It was for Taji who is a tad over the desire limit.

However she soon got the idea and spent

time playing with it until empty.

Candi was also keen enough to give it a go this morning.

Whether they lose any weight is another thing.
