Christmas Tree 2020.

Like the rest of 2020 Christmas is going

to be different this year, not so much

due to COVID rather  personal circumstances.

Our eldest is in New Zealand for Christmas

awaiting the birth of the first child.

No 2 Soon is going to lunch with his in-laws,

however, we will see him on Christmas Eve

for Carols and again on Christmas night.

This year instead of around 20 for

Christmas lunch there will

only be eight.

Whether it’s…

…celebrating a 21st birthday, or…

…a 75th birthday,

’tis always a good excuse for a party

especially with a new wig to wear.

About ten years ago Father-in-Law had

been diagnosed  with several types of cancer

during the year with the imagined effect

on his already thinning hair.

Our boys decided a wig was just what

the doctor ordered.

He is still going strong.

It was father-in-law’s 75th birthday.

He had been treated for breast and two other

forms of cancer during the year and

the chemotherapy had taken its toll.

For a birthday gift his two eldest grandsons (our two)

decided to buy him a wig.

As you can see he found a great deal of joy

in that gift.

Nearly eleven years on he is

as healthy as a trout.

We had cause to celebrate on Tuesday…

When our youngest was in his late teens he was

mad keen on playing video games.

He found a course, where he could learn

to make said games,

at a nearby university and enrolled.

No. 2 Son soon discovered that it was

easier to play, than make a game.

My limited coding experience tried

to impart that knowledge….but…..

Fast forward to Spring, 2017.

Dad just happened to ask had he thought of

going back university to gain a qualification

by completing another course.

About two weeks later he announced that he was

going to quit his job and go to university full time.

That was not exactly what I had in mind.

And I could not see how household bills

were going to paid on one wage.

MGW and I both breathed a sigh of relief

when DiL No 1 told everyone one he was

not leaving his job unless he had another to go to.

Late last spring (2019) he finished his

Degree in Business Management.

Last Tuesday he Graduated (with Distinction)

from Geelong’s Deakin University.

 Amazingly the 18 months enrolled in

computer programming, and enrolling

in the summer classes all helped expedite

his Business Management Degree.

We are so proud and pleased for our youngest.

Word-of-Day-Challenge-Anniversary

~~~~~
anniversary
the date on which an event took place or
an institution was founded in a previous year.
Two years ago we celebrated….
…our thirtieth wedding anniversary…
30th Wedding Anniversary
with a hot  air balloon ride over Melbourne.
 We received a copy of pictures taken by the company’s camera…
…and I captured this shot of Melbourne
just as the sun rose…
…before touching down in one of
the leafier northern suburbs.
This activity comes with a high recommendation
from yours rlly for tourist and locals alike.
Rectangular Prism
A solid (3-dimensional) object which has six faces that are rectangles.
It has the same cross-section along a length, which makes it a prism.
Less than 90 days…
…until these rectangular prisms
are on display again.
