Beautiful magpies. I bet if those walls could talk, they’d be noisy! Great share for PPAC this week, Woolly. 🙂

I’m sure they would, too. 😊

I have now. 😊 Unfortunately I don’t have much of a grasp of Black Billed Magpie. 😊 Maybe it’s the accent! In fact I have never seen a pet magpie before. https://www.10000birds.com/?attachment_id=118509 An image of the Australian variety in Southern Victoria https://www.10000birds.com/australian-magpies-in-victoria.htm. Just in case the image does not work, this is the url on which it may be found.

I think I read that black beaked magpies were American. I am not a birder, but after seeing your post, I got to thinking, “What would a bunch of magpies sound like?” I knew they were noisy. When that video came up, I loved it and wanted to share it. I liked it so much that I put it in my WQW (Writer’s Quotes Wednesdays) post on Communication. https://alwayswrite.blog/2022/01/12/wqw-2-communication-socializing-is-it-worth-your-time/ See what you started, Woolly???? 🙂

And I shall continue with it Marsha 😄😄. I Googled ‘ australian magpies’ and found some videos of Aussie Magpies carolling. We have the white back magpie, further north you will find black the backed variety.

So can American magpies talk? I’m not too familiar with magpies either. My friend that I visited in Australia had magpies in the yard.

We used to have around half a dozen come in for an evening feed until Taji came on the scene. Like all labs she was, still is, very protective of her food. So magpies we’re gone before we realised it. Decades ago, Dad used to mix milk and bread together for the magpies he fed.

Tajo was just doing her job! I found out that birds like cat food as well. We had an orphan baby and the vet told us to feed it cat food.
