What a wonderful bird is the Pelican.

His beak can hold more than his belly can.

He can hold in his beak

Enough food for a week!

But I’ll be darned if I know how the hellican?”

About a twenty-minute drive…

…out of Geelong…

…is this Christmas display.

I really don’t think my photography…

…does the display justice.

I posted this image, a month or so back,

of our cherry tree in bloom.

It appeared another good harvest

was on the way.

When we netted the tree in

early November…

…we had reassessed our expectations…down…considerably.

Wednesday afternoon we harvested our cherries.

It took all of five minutes to strip our tree

of the few cherries, it bore this year.

Our revised estimate was still too high.

The best part was the colours.

Spot on for this week’s

Christmas Colour challenge.

Nice fruit but…

…barely enough for tea last night and

to think this bowl overflowed last year,

as well as filling a large square plate.

The only thing we can think of is

inclement weather just after/as

the tree bloomed.
