It was difficult to tell which definition

Hippos were adhering to…

 

…if they were not actually swimming

they were certainly immersed in water.


These fish were a totally different story being

both immersed and swimming in,

their watery home in the lobby

of our Vancouver Island Hotel.

    • More people are killed by hippos than any other large African animal. Yet while camping in the Okavango Delta our guide pointed to a large, wide track to the water telling us that was the track hippos used. Then he promptly threw his tent onto the track and erected it. Were were safe as the guide’s snoring would have kept any wildlife away. 🙂
