I did see any fishing boats on Monday,
which I guess means they were at sea…

Mr too! Don’t know if you were/are a John Denver fan or not. A TV special he made in Australia included a visit to Port Fairy. I still have the album he signed for me.

It is that sort of place. I used to play football and cricket at Port when in my teens. Before then I had a Port Fairy football jumper as the Seagulls (I think that was the teams name) was my team of choice in the 50s early 60s Hamden League.

Back in the 50s there were cabins over the bridge which we visited on several occasions for holidays as well. However, Port is only a half hour drive from where I spent 55 years of my life. Since I commenced blogging there are many things I Wish I had photographed before I moved away from the farm. Nearly 50 years ago I spent a summer playing basketball at the hall over the road from ‘The Stump’.

That summer we ‘cooled down’ at The Stump, after the game. And often had to front up for work at 0700

Haha, I was on holidays… no such problems… go to the beach for a swim… then a ‘cool down’ in the afternoon…
