These almost pre-historic animals

are certainly not in the

emergent category.In fact they are in just the opposite category

in that numbers are declining significantly

each with close to 1,000 being

poached each year.

 

Between 2013 and 2018 (inclusive) Africa lost

(according to Google) 6,979

of these magnificent animals

to poachers (click link for details),

which is why there are now sanctuaries

guarded 24/7 by military sharpshooters.
