A Melbourne special spot is

the footbridge over the Yarra River.

The long sandstone building is…

Flinders Street Station where Melbournians

meet under the clocks.

The Twelve Apostles is one of my favourite spots,

which has unfortunately become too touristy for me.

Further west along the Great Ocean Road

is, Loch Ard Gorge.

At  sunrise only a few joggers, dog walkers

and photographers encroach on one’s space

at Geelong’s Griffin Gully Pier.

    • I think my pictured is dated now Tina. I believe there are only six remaining….although the experts claim they will return as the cliffs again erode. It is a great place to visit though. In 2001 I escorted a group of visiting Chinese students to see the Twelve Apostles. They loved it and one girl told me her uncle had visited and was enthralled with the region also.

      • My 12 Apostles iame was taken in early January, 2013… with 40 plus temperature. Regarding the (Victorian/New South Wales) fires, it would the forecast is for around 30 mm over the next 8 days. Sadly that amount only makes it more dangerous for vehicles to negotiate bush tracks. Weather patterns are difficult to predict. Last week’s rain came from a system in the Indian Ocean and travelled Overland for around 3,500 km. Whereas the fires are threatening south coast holiday resorts.

  1. I’m very glad to hear that you had some rain. We have been following the news of the fires and are so sad that they are still expected to burn longer. After looking at your shots, I am thinking about our trip to Melbourne last year. Thank you so much for reminding me of your fabulous city. It is definitely a special place.

    • Just enough to settle the dust Patti. More heat on the way. Fire crews are stating 800 mm is required to douse the fires. Going to be a long hot summer. To top our week climate change activists blocked major streets in Melbourne on Friday against pleas from the Government and Police.
