predominantly in the south-east.

The 2019–20 bushfire season is of notable intensity

compared to previous seasons as it has burned;

an estimated 10.7 million hectares (26 million acres;

107,000 square kilometres; 41,000 square miles),

destroyed over 5,900 buildings

(including over 2,204 homes) and

killed 28 people as of 8 January 2020

  1. I’m hearing so many sad stories of people losing their homes and wildlife being displaced. I’ve just signed a petition for the Canadian government to send its water bombers down to Australia to help put out the fires.


    • I am praying that the rain we are receiving now will assist firefighters. But it has to travel around 500 km to reach Victoria’s Eastern fires first. The rain is light steady and cold. Thank you for signing the petition.
