“a camera battery”
a fortified emplacement for heavy guns

First definition

Second definition.

And a third battery.

MY battery was flattened (quickly) this afternoon

when aging joints and soft earth combined

to send me tumbling to the ground.

I hit either the axle or the concrete block

Just above my right hip and expect to have

more aches and pains in  the morning

than I have now.

If that is possible.

My new toy (Nikon D750) was,

thankfully, unscathed.  🙂

a harsh discordant mixture of sounds.

Black Cockatoos….

…fit this description when they are feeding…

…cracking open the nuts or fruit of their favoured tree.

Their cousins the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo

do not like being disturbed and are

at their most cacophonous when

around 1,000 (well, at least several hundred)

are settling down for  the night in one tree.

They all have to say ‘good night’ to each other.

Fandango’s One Word Challenge: Cacophony

I spend most of my time

behind the camera so very few

photos of yours truly.

However I digitised some Super 8 movie film this year

and this my twenty-four year-old self, in April 1975,

signing the visitors book atop Ayres Rock

which is now known as Uluru.

In the background are The Olgas.

As of October 2019 no-one will be allowed

to climb Ayres Rock and even the cairn is to be removed.
