A-Photo-a-Week-Challenge-Urban

Starting with Melbourne urban sights.

I’m not sure if this service is still operating.

Next week’s fashion?

We had an enjoyable carriage ride in

Victoria, British Columbia, last year.

It’s probably about time to check out Melbourne

with a one horsepower drive.

An ice rink in the country is unheard of.

I was surprised to see this open air rink

in Melbourne a few years ago.

Heads deliberately removed because

most skaters were youngsters

I always associate buskers…

with urban life.

Couldn’t help take this one.

Big sister was horrified.

Little sister was cooling.

Mum was busy talking to a friend

and did not see any of this!

For last year’s visit to Canada and Alaska we

flew with Air Canada on a 2 for 1 deal.

Because we only stepped onto

an Air Canada flight in Brisbane

I initially thought the 2 for 1 deal

referred to the Brisbane – Vancouver leg.

While speaking to the travel company

I learned that the 2 for 1 deal applied to all flight sectors.

So we flew from Melbourne to Brisbane,

Brisbane to Vancouver,

Vancouver  to Victoria and

from Fairbanks to Vancouver

then all the way home to Melbourne…

for what seemed the bargain price of $2,000.

I was expecting that per person.

Thank you Air Canada.

The only flight we had to pay for was

our Air Arctic flight to Coldfoot.

Hamilton Enclosed Gardens

New Zealand

One of the last places…

…we visited was The Hamilton Gardens.

Much of the Hamilton Gardens was, or is, foliage.

It also has a nice walk into the enclosed gardens.

Hopefully I have enough photos and

title images to make some reasonable posts.

Word-of-Day-Challenge-Safe

~~~~~
Just before Christmas last year
we brought a timid Smudge home.
He had been in the shelter since April 2018,
and spent 5-6 weeks hiding from
everyone and everything.
At the moment he is getting braver and ventures
up to 7 metres from the safety of his enclosure.
He has begun to play with the dogs…
and has Candi’s measure.
He does head for the safety of his enclosure
when anything, and I mean anything, startles him.
These photos were taken through our kitchen window
using my 500 mm lens as he would not
sit for a photo if he could see me.
