There seems to be an element of risk
in everyday living these days.
However, it is not every day that one gets…
to pat a cheetah…
…although she sowed some sign
of not being happy with one traveller.
Standing under a 6 ton 30-year-old elephant
has some risk involved.
The Whistler-Blackcomb Mountains
Peak2Peak Gondola Ride
has travellers sailing at a minimum
of 1,400 feet above ground
with only a piece of wire holding things together.
Admittedly a rather larger piece of wire.
The riskiest part of any flight
is take off and landing.
=) Ah, the beauty and exhilaration of risk-taking… and you take so many of them in your travels. Lovely.

Thank you Patrick. I think we all do we just don’t consider there is a risk in going to church, theatre, shopping…and how many of us drive, or are driven, each day. 🙂

There is indeed risk in every moment. Not everyone chooses the risks of exploration. To the explorers, this seems not so much a risk, I suppose.
I know I’ve often received messages from folks praising my apparent courage for extended travel. It seems more a necessity for me than a risk. The greater danger, it seems, is in standing still. Change has generally been something I’ve welcomed.
That said, there are times I’ve struggled. (This last journey proved to be challenging in ways I’ve not experienced before.) So, I understand a little better those who see a greater risk in stepping outside the realm of the known.
