Say Hello to Smudge, our new cat.

Our new timid cat.

A very, very timid cat.

We have had him Since about Christmas,

and the cat shelter had him since April 2018.

Yesterday, Thursday, was the first time

he had sat and watched me.

On all other occasions he has run back to his enclosure.

We think he may come over to the house

by Christmas this year at the rate he is progressing.

But at least he is out and about

and watching what is going on.

    • Thank you….will pass on your comments to MGW. Like a few of our cats over the years, he tore strips off me a few days after we brought him home. So I keep my distance now. I had tied the dogs up and drove past and realised he was sitting. Didn’t move when I reversed, he just posed for me. Things are looking up. 🙂

      • I think you are right. Don’t know much about his past except that one of MGW’s school fiends fostered him for a while and he was like this with her also. Alll who have anything to do with him have said he has to do things in his own time. When we visited the Magerie Glacier in June last year, I was hoping to see it ‘calvve’. It obliged several times i the hour we were there. Smudge is making glaciers look like sprinters 🙂

  1. Congratulations to you for your new family member and to Smudge for release from the shelter. I’m in the process of adopting a cat from the shelter I’ve been volunteering at, but there are so many hoops to jump through! They were ready to let her go on Sunday but now she has an eye infection to be cleared up before release. It’s like give me the ointment and I will take care of it!
