pacify or placate (someone) by acceding to their demands.

Young Taji used to, and still does given the chance,

bounce on the end of her chain when we are sighted.

She has a hole around where she bounces

which fills with water and she is wearing away

the post to which her chain is attached.

After much discussion and pracrice this is Taji’s pose.

This does not mean she hasn’t tried ‘the bounce’.

It means she knows to appease us she has to

sit quietly and wait until she is lt off.

Then, with much effort, she has to wait until

she is released to come out of her kennel.

Of course should she continue misbehaving

before being let off she is ‘allowed’ an extra half hour

to contemplate the error of her ways.

This pose is often struck if we do not appease

her wants…when she wants.

She is getting better.
