a cause, explanation, or justification for an action or event.
the power of the mind to think, understand, and form judgements logically.

Once upon a time there were two young dogs

who decided that chasing or two vehicles was good fun.

Only one or two white trucks.

As we don’t have a front fence it was

imperative to stop this behaviour.

So every time they chased,  I would head out
with my

loudest voice and tell them to get to their kennels.

Growling and telling them what bad dogs

they were was all part of it.

They were tied up for ten or fifteen minutes.

Soon they decided that it was better not to be

growled at and to have more freedom.

Now I don’t even need to exit the house and they will

go to their kennel on command and sit and wait (no chain)

until they are ‘released’ or they think they

have served long enough in the ‘penalty box’.

Initially their idea of a penalty did not coincide with mine

and they served further time.

They are now more prudent about when

it is ‘safe’ to leave their kennels.

I’m not sure if they are reasoning.

However, I do know the reason for their ‘punishment’

has worked and they are better behaved

although at times loud while they are free.

Do they sound like anyone you know?
